How to Change Your Thoughts to Live a Happy Life

Positive life changes start happening once you can recognize and redirect your inner voice while observing the conscious mind. The key to the law of attraction is the ability to monitor your thoughts so you can raise the vibrational energy of thoughts with the intention of changing your life for the better.
You are an active participant in the direction of your life and when you stop giving energy to thoughts that do not serve you then you make room for positivity. You raise the vibrational energy of thoughts by focusing only on the positive. As you begin having a more positive mental attitude, you can feel the vibrational energy of your thoughts impact your life for the better.
How Do I become Conscious of my Thoughts?
Antime you're able to hear words in your head, you're engaging with your conscious mind. Think of a time when you were super angry at someone and you had a very realistic fight in your mind with this person. We've all been there. Who are you fighting with if the person you're angry with is not present? You feel every emotion and even experience physical changes (increased heart rate and blood pressure) as if the person is standing right in front of you. That's the internal chatter and it will never shut up if you don't become aware of its presence and it's impact on your vibrational energy.
You are not the chatter in your mind. You are the one observing the chatter, but just like the Queen of Gossip at work, the chatter lures you in and before you know it, you're engaged with the drama your mind created. However, to make positive changes in your life, you must become familiar with the voice so you can stop it before it affects your vibrational energy. This is important when using principles of the law of attraction because you don't want your inner diva sending thoughts that keep you from manifesting your desired life.
The ability to recognize this internal chatter also gives you the ability to shut it up when it's not beneficial to your goals. Singer calls this voice or psyche, your inner roommate which is a brilliant way to describe that chaotic conversation that just keeps going and going and going.
How Can "the Voice" Lower Your Vibrational Energy?
Let's say you want to go to Italy next summer. You've brushed up on and applied the law of attraction principles. You have visualized yourself being at the places you want to go. You can taste the food, smell the fresh greenery, feel the breeze and you're feeling so appreciative and grateful for the experience. You are aligned with high vibrational energy and the universe is ready to make Italy happen.
Then, all of a sudden, the voice (or inner roommate) starts talking.
There's no way I'm going to Italy. How can I afford a trip to Italy? I don't even speak the language. I should save my money. A trip to Nebraska would be cheaper, but I can’t even afford Nebraska. My savings account is already low. This is stupid. It'll never work for me. I need to lose weight. Did I pay my energy bills? We don't talk about Bruno, no, no, no. It's in my head again.
You can choose to use the law of attraction for your benefit, but if you have negative low vibrational energy thoughts, you'll get circumstances to match your negativity. The universe was ready to present circumstances that would lead to a trip to Italy, but instead it brought you Nebraska, money struggles, a spare tire, and a song that'll never get out of your head.
Why Do I Have Multiple Roommates in My Head that All Have Different Vibrational Energy Patterns?
Not only do you have an inner roommate, but according to Carolyn Myss, you also have archetypal patterns (or you could call this multiple roommates). The main four roommates, or archetypes, that each of us have includes: the child, the victim, the saboteur, and the prostitute.
According to Myss, once you’re aware of your archetypes, then you can choose if you want that archetype to have a say in your life’s decisions.
Do you want to talk about finances with a child? The child is often playful, happy, and loves new experiences which can raise vibrational energy; however, a child also makes uneducated choices and throws tantrums which lowers your vibrational energy.
How about plan a trip with the why me victim? Low, low, low vibrational energy.
The saboteur that holds you back in relationships, future plans, and success?
I’m going to guess the prostitute has the highest chance of getting to Italy; but at what cost?
Once you can truly observe the conscious mind, you notice a lot of mental garbage that holds you back in life. Once you notice it, you can slow it down and throw away the junk that no longer serves you.
Most of the time, your inner voice is living in the past and has no benefit to your present or future.
How Do I Raise My Vibrational Energy and Break Up with the Roomate?
Today, I want you to make a goal to recognize the inner voice and replace your inner diva with positive affirmations. This is an effective law of attraction technique that is proven to increase your positive vibrational energy.
Positive affirmations are simple statements that help restore your self competence and they work at the reward system of your brain.
Positive affirmations are scientifically proven to reduce feelings of negativity, help you focus on the positives, and increase your self worth resulting in better relationships, experiences, health, career, and finances.
Every time your inner voice cries about your current situation or starts to sabotage your ambition, practice switch thinking and replace the negativity with affirmations that are opposite of the old negative thought. I have included a few affirmations below, but you can create your own that are personalized for your life goals.

I am proud of myself.
I believe in my worth.
I accept who I am.
I am thankful for my success.
I am confident in my abilities.
I love myself more and more every day.
I am healthier and happier every day.

I am attracting all that I’ve ever wanted.
If you're new to affirmations, it may feel like a big lie at first. Fake it until you make it. Eventually, your emotions will line up with the affirmations and you'll witness the law of attraction working for you instead of against you.
